TRAINING AND LEVELING


Statistically advancing your character is most definitely a cornerstone of the RPG. A basic of this cornerstone, comes in the form of training and leveling -- both of which are stated in updates.




TYPES OF TRAINING


  • Self Training:
    Exercising and practicing one's techniques. Gives +25 DP, +25 EXP per week.

  • Isolation Training:
    Heavy training that cannot be done with or around others. Adds +40 DP per week. You cannot battle during isolation training, and you must be the only playable character in your location (NPCs do not count).

  • Master Training:
    Training from an experienced Master; they are found in various places, scattered amongst the galaxy. Each master has different bonuses that correlate to different characteristics. Adds +X (where X is a master-specific bonus), +50 EXP per week. Must have appropriate permissions before able to do this training.

  • Somanetics:
    A type of special training that emphasizes on bettering the physical body. Adds +10 STR, +10 VIT, +10 AGI per week. Must have appropriate permissions before able to do this training.

  • Pneumanetics:
    A type of special training that emphasizes on bettering the mental being. Adds +10 INT, +10 SPT, +10 GUI per week. Must have appropriate permissions before able to do this training.

  • Nakamanetics:
    Training with fellow party or guild members. Adds +35 DP, +30 EXP per week. You must state who you are training with in your update, and that person must also have you listed in theirs. Must have appropriate permissions before able to do this training.



    DISTRIBUTION POINTS


    These are used to increase the 6 major characteristics (STR, VIT, AGI, INT, SPT, GUI).

  • 1 DP = +1 into chosen characteristic

    (It really is that simple!)



    ABILITY POINTS


    These are used to learn & level techniques, skills, and feats (collectively known as "abilities").

  • Novice: Novice ranked techniques require 6 AP to learn.
  • Intermediate: Intermediate ranked techniques require 12 AP to learn.
  • Advanced: Advanced ranked techniques require 18 AP to learn.
  • Secret: Secret abilities require ?? AP to learn.



    EXPERIENCE


    Leveling up is one of the foundations of statistical gains, and it is also a main tenet of battle since it determines your HP. Leveling up is determined by Experience (EXP), and it operates in the "EXP-to-next-level" system. If you aren't familiar with this system, the following shall explain it for you.

    You will have a record of your total EXP gained, but the EXP for leveling is not cumulative -- it always resets to 0 after a level has been attained. In other words: to reach a level, you must satisfy that level's EXP needed. You need a certain amount of EXP before you can reach a certain level. If your EXP used to level up ends up with a EXP surplus, that surplus will be added to the required EXP for the subsequent level. The required amount of EXP needed to level up again raises each time -- it is a progressive scale. A chart can be found below.

    For example, let's say a character named Rolias is at Level 1 with 0 EXP. For the week, she gained +125 EXP in her update. In order to level up to Level 2, +100 EXP is needed (see chart below). She has +100 EXP, so she is able to attain Level 2. However, she will have a surplus of +25 EXP. Since she gained a level, the required EXP for her new level is at 0. (She still has a record of her total EXP.)

    EXP to next level: 175 (Note that +200 EXP is needed for Level 3.)

    From this example, you can see that you do not lose the EXP that you have earned -- it simply rolls over into the next level's required amount of EXP.

    Leveling Classes
    For every level you attain, the class you are currently using will have a single slot will unlock. This allows players to learn 1 of the unlocked class slots (of the appropriate rank) for its listed AP cost. For more information, see Classes.

    Level Gains
  • Level 2-10: +100 EXP from each level up, +50 DP
  • Level 11-20: +150 EXP from each level up, +75 DP
